The Clink Charity's Latest Star-Studded Cookbook Now on Sale

The Clink Charity's second published recipe book, The Clink Quick & Easy Cookbook, is now available to buy via Amazon, priced at £14.99. All proceeds from the sale of the book go towards expanding The Clink's prisoner rehabilitation scheme across Her Majesty's Prison Estate.

The cookbook presents 85 recipes for the home cooks that are short of time. Recipes have been carefully crafted by The Clink Restaurant concept founder Alberto Crisci MBE along with friends and ambassadors of The Clink Charity including group chef ambassador and culinary legend Albert Roux OBE, renowned Italian restaurateur Antonio Carluccio OBE, Michelin starred chef Giorgio Locatelli, Wahaca co-founder Thomasina Miers and British chef and BBC Saturday Kitchen Presenter Matt Tebbutt.

Designed for people who want to eat delicious dishes but don't have the time to create complex culinary masterpieces, the cookbook's recipes include dishes such as roasted heritage beets with orange dressing by Alberto Crisci, Albert Roux's coq à la bière and an indulgent chocolate and triple hazelnut tart by The Clink Restaurant at HMP Brixton's head chef Paul Clarkson.

As the author of the book's foreword Albert Roux OBE commented on the charity's latest cookbook: “The objective of this book is to raise awareness of the meaningful work of The Clink Charity in providing prisoners with the necessary skills, professional training and pastoral support required to turn their lives around for the better. All funds raised from the sale of the book will help to build more Clink Restaurants and expand the admirable work of the charity. I am honoured once again to represent The Clink in my role as an ambassador and have thoroughly enjoyed helping to put this cookbook together – I hope our recipes are put to good use.”



Since launching in 2009, The Clink rehabilitation concept has garnered huge support from hospitality greats across the world and is expanding across Her Majesty's Prison Estate with four restaurants currently in operation in the UK. Prisoners working in the restaurants work a 40-hour week whilst working towards achieving City & Guilds NVQs in food preparation and food service to aid employment upon release.

With The Clink Gardens at HMP Send and HMP High Down in Surrey, where prisoners also gain qualifications in horticulture, as well as Clink Events, the charity is on track to achieve its target of 20 prisoner training projects by the end of 2020. This will see 1,000 highly trained graduates released into employment each year, helping to reduce the hospitality skills shortage by providing those who want and deserve a second chance in life the opportunity to change for the better.

The Clink Quick & Easy Cookbook is another strand of fundraising the charity runs and the book is now available to buy online at £14.99 or £25.95 when purchasing with the 2015 Clink Canapé Cookbook.
