TV Wine Expert Charles Metcalfe To Host Masterclasses At Foodies Festival, Edinburgh



This weekend the Discover the Origin campaign,  dedicated to celebrating and protecting the heritage of five precious food and wines from Europe; Parmigiano Reggiano Cheese, Parma Ham, Bourgogne Wines, Douro Wines and Port, is delighted to return to Foodies Festival, Inverleith Park, Edinburgh –  Friday 8th, Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th August.

Discover the Origin will be taking the 'how' out of choosing the right wine to perfectly accompany your meal with free masterclasses hosted by celebrity wine expert Charles Metcalfe in the festival's Drinks Theatre. As one of the nation's most well-known spontaneous and amusing wine critics, Charles Metcalfe's wine knowledge is second to none and he'll be dispelling wine myths and sharing advice on the wines we should be enjoying this summer in his exclusive masterclass.

Festival goers can visit the Discover the Origin stand in the Pagoda to taste delicious samples of different ages of Parmigiano Reggiano Cheese and Parma Ham. If that's not enough to tickle the tastebuds, a selection of Douro Wines, Bourgogne Wines and Port will also be showcased at the stand for a true taste of Portuguese, French and Italian flavours. Food experts will be at hand to host tastings and explain the history, provenance and characteristics of each product.
