Let's Cook! Summer Classes At Leiths For Budding Young Chefs

Those looking for ways to entertain restless teens during the holidays can turn to Leiths. The top UK cookery school has developed Let’s Cook!, a range of one day to one week classes for teenagers. From pasta to pastry; curries to cake, teenagers can get excited about food and at the same time develop an essential skill for life.

Learning needn't stop in the holidays and when it's this much fun it won't feel like school. Teenagers will be inspired by the abundance of summer produce and enjoy the perfect summertime activities of cooking and eating at Leiths.  In their Let’s Cook! one day classes, students will learn to make their own colourful Pasta and Ravioli with ricotta and lemon and whip up a delicious sauce using store cupboard ingredients; test their spice levels learning to recreate Gujarati chicken dhal, Persian rogan josh and Thai green chicken curry in Curries around the World; bake cheesecake brownies, syrup cakes and soda bread in Baking for Teenagers or impress by making their own macaroon masterpieces.

For budding chefs who are up for a challenge, the four day fun packed  Lets Cook! Cookery Toolbox for Teenagers course starts on 5 August. On this fun yet informative course, 13-17 year olds will learn with the building blocks of cooking. With recipes including Sweetcorn fritters with chilli dipping sauce, Italian chicken with pesto potatoes and Chocolate mousse they are sure to impress with their new cooking prowess. And they are even taught to clean up after themselves!

The One WeekCookery Bootcamp provides a great start to an independent life. From baking the ultimate brownies to the perfect Sunday roast, this intensive one week introduction to cooking is perfect for those with a passion for food and entertaining, and ideal for those heading to sixth form or university. After five full days in the kitchen, students will have practiced a new repertoire of dishes and menus, and most importantly will learn essential cookery skills for life, giving  them the confidence to adapt and develop their cooking long after the course is finished.

Those with serious cooking ambitions can indulge in the four week Essential Cooking Certificate. From comforting classics to cutting edge creations students will learn all they need for a lifetime of confident cooking. A popular course for teenagers heading to university, former student Diane Cheale says, "The Leiths Essential Certificate has ensured that I can cook meals for not just myself but my whole house. During the holidays there are always jobs available, which is useful when cashflow as a student is difficult!"
