Ten Fun Facts You Didn't Know About Aldo Zilli

Aldo Zilli, the award-winning celebrity chef and restaurateur, who specialises in Italian, vegetarian and seafood cuisine, has been working with the premium Italian cheese brand DIVO Italiano for more than a year.

DIVO Italiano, which includes Cubed Gorgonzola, Ricotta Twin Pots, Parmigiano Reggiano, grated heart of Parmigiano Reggiano and Vegetarian grated Italian hard cheese, is the first cheese range to encompass soft, blue and hard Italian cheeses under one brand, and has listings in Morrisons and Ocado.

To celebrate this milestone, Aldo has shared ten facts about his life and love of food:

1. Who inspired you to become a chef?
Cooking with my mum from the age of 8, for my seven brothers and one sister and my very fussy Dad!!

2. What's in your fridge?
It’s normally empty!! If I have to have three crucial ingredients, one would be DIVO Ricotta cheese, as it’s so versatile that I can use it for my pasta sauces and for my favourite chocolate mousse dessert, vegetables such as aubergines always feature as I like them grilled dressed with mint, vinegar, olive oil and the finest Parma Ham from Italia Formaggi.

3. Where was the last place you went on holiday?
Lapland - magical place, shame about the food, but the children enjoyed meeting Father Christmas, as did I!

4. What's your favourite meal to cook?
I love a risotto and so do my kids as I can always find some ingredients to make it with and then finish it with some delicious DIVO Parmesan.

5. Fresh pasta or dried pasta?
Fresh pasta, but only if made by me.

6. Who would play you in a movie?
Al Pacino in Scarface!

7. What did you cook last night?
Deep Fried Stuffed Courgette Flowers with DIVO Ricotta - delicious.

8. What do you do in your spare time?
Play football with Rocco my son or swim with Twiggy my daughter.

9. What cooking utensil could you not live without?
My blender, my sharp knives (as every chef will tell you) and, of course, my pasta pot.

10. What makes a Bolognese sauce perfect?

Time and three meats - pork, veal and beef.
