Parmigiano Reggiano Chef 2014 – CrossCooKing

It’s time to get inspired!

Our world is becoming increasingly global and so are our culinary habits, with the discovery of new ingredients, tastes and flavours – yet we still maintain close links to our gastronomic heritage.

So it’s time to get inspired, because Parmigiano Reggiano Chef, the international culinary contest organised by Parmigiano Reggiano (the only Parmesan), is coming to you!

Now entering its second year, the 2014 Parmigiano Reggiano Chef will run from 19th May until 18th July in countries around the world. Anyone from food writers, bloggers, chefs and cookery school students to general foodies can enter. The theme is CrossCooKing, focussing on the integration of Parmigiano Reggiano, the King of Cheeses, into traditional recipes from international cuisines.

To showcase the extraordinary versatility of Parmigiano Reggiano, you are invited to reinterpret a typical dish from your own country using Parmigiano Reggiano as a main ingredient. Take inspiration from family traditions or from your favourite ingredients and recreate a Parmigiano Reggiano-inspired dish.
Upload photographs of your dish and/or the main recipe stages to the app along with the method here. Your recipe will then be published on the dedicated section of the Parmigiano Reggiano website.

A panel of chefs will judge and select the 30 best recipes which will be published in the first ever Parmigiano Reggiano CrossCooKing recipe book. A special surprise will be awarded to the most interesting interpretation which successfully integrates the King of Cheeses into a traditional recipe from an international cuisine.

Good luck!
