Best Of The West Festival 2013 At Inveraray Castle, Argyll

Loch Fyne Oysters are delighted to be part of the Best of the West Festival on 14th & 15th September 2013 at Inveraray Castle.

The family-friendly festival celebrates the best in food, drink, craft, music and entertainments from the West of Scotland.

While visitors are being entertained food and drink will feature strongly with the Best of the West Whiskies, pitting all 22 West Coast Distillers against each other in a light-hearted 'people's tasting'. Loch Fyne Oysters are part of the award winning "Food from Argyll" Team who will provide local food to eat, sample and take home. There will be something for everyone including Loch Fyne oysters, smoked mussels and their legendary grilled salmon rolls. Other Food from Argyll producers attending will include Winston Churchill Venison, Inverawe Smokehouse, MacKay Stovies and Home Ground Coffee. The George Hotel will be roasting a hog and co-hosting the bar with Fyne Ales. All stands will have family friendly menus with plenty of choice for all.

Inveraray Castle, the jewel in the West Highland's crown, provides a stunning venue.  The imposing, turreted castle, built in the 1700s for the Dukes of Argyll, sits on the edge of Loch Fyne surrounded by the breathtaking scenery of the west coast.  The Festival will take place in the grounds of the castle with the hills and loch as a backdrop.

With the internationally acclaimed Red Hot Chilli Pipers booked to headline the Sunday and Skerryvore for the Saturday, the line up has over 70 musicians with music ranging from world-famous bands to local pipe bands, young talent, Gaelic, traditional and more modern.

The Best of the West will have a huge amount to keep all the family busy.  Included in the children's ticket will be unlimited access to a host of children's entertainments including a four-sided climbing wall, laser blast arena, bungee trampolines, children's workshops, face painting, a supervised play area, storytelling and much more to make this a great family day out.

Entrance to the Festival is £15 for a regular weekend ticket and free to under 8 year olds. Parking free (limited places, town parking charges will apply as normal).  See website for further ticket prices. http://www.bowfest.co.uk
