Chocolate fondue

Now you cannot do better on a valentine’s night or any romantic dinner to finish with some thing like this, a chocolate fondue.  At the end of the evening, just the two of you feasting on fresh fruit coated in melted chocolate.  Gloriously interactive and lots of fun.

You will need
110g/4oz sugar
110ml4fl oz water
400g/14oz plain chocolate
2 tbsp golden syrup
Fruits and berries

Now as to what fruits and berries you use it is up to you, you can use oranges, bananas, grapes, dates, pineapple, or strawberries. As long as they are fairly stable and will not disintegrate as soon as they hit the hot chocolate then al most any thing you like. Take your selection and  cut in bite-sized pieces , if you are using apple and pares use a little lemon juice to stop them from going brown.

Now you have to make sugar stock syrup so heat the sugar and water in a saucepan until the sugar melts, then bring to the boil and take of the heat.  Now melt your chocolate in a bowl over a pan of warm water do not let bowl touch the water.

Now add to the chocolate the golden syrup and the sugar stock syrup.  You might not need all the sugar stock syrup all depending on how good your chocolate is and how thick you want the sauce to be. Work it all together until you have a smooth sauce then serve it with all the fruits that you prepared earlier.

Just remember that the chocolate will be very hot so be careful ate first.
